I did in fact complete a couple of projects while I was in California. The Merlot is finally done.
I wish I had made it a wee bit longer but I wasn’t sure I had enough yarn left for another pattern repeat.
I’ve been sidetracked a little though on my other projects.
First up, my LYS is knitting 100 hats for the homeless in 100 days. I love knitting charity hats. They’re quick and they help use up all the leftovers from other projects. It’s a win/win. So I did this:
mostly on the plane on the way home. Some Cascade 220 from my stash.
Then my amazing granddaughter decided to participate in a fundraiser for a family friend whose 2 year old son has cancer. She is going to shave her head at the end of the month. I can’t believe how brave she is do this. She just started 5th grade and kids can be soooo cruel at that age. I have faith that she will be able stick it out- she’s very secure with herself. But this definitely calls for some knitted head coverings.
Pi Chemo Topper in Fiesta Boomerang. Color Tequila Sunrise. There’s 320 yds and the hat only takes 100. I think I’ll have enough left for a scarf.
Must get knitting now.
I don’t usually solicit donations for anything but if you are interested the link for the fundraiser is here.
